About P4B Law

P4B Law is a specialist employment law firm established more than 20 years ago by founder Roger Davies. The small but busy team works entirely remotely, supporting employers with expert advice and representation. Despite its modest size, P4B Law continues to grow, thanks to a reputation for reliability and expertise.

Why P4B Law Chose Osprey Approach

After many years using their legacy case management system, the software reached end‑of‑life.

When searching for a modern legal software provider, P4B Law wanted a UK‑based supplier who could offer continuity, accessibility, and personal service – all stark contrasts to their outgoing provider. “I liked the fact that Osprey are UK‑based. Previously, we were dealing with a big faceless corporation. We never spoke to the same person twice.”

Beyond the cultural fit and service expectations, early demonstrations also highlighted how much easier daily work could be with Osprey. “Ease of use compared to our old system was a big factor. Time recording is a lot easier on this system – and as the business owner, that’s key because it pays the bills.”

The combination of UK‑based support, strong communication, modern functionality and intuitive workflows reassured Roger that Osprey would remove friction rather than add to it: “Overall, it’s much easier to use compared to our old system.” For a firm working fully remotely, that simplicity mattered: “The litmus test is: are people using it properly? Yes, they are.”

Onboarding With Osprey: Supportive, practical, and personal

Once P4B Law had Osprey, the onboarding process began and made a strong first impression.

Early conversations with the customer success and onboarding team set the tone for the entire implementation. “If you can get on with people and they’re your sort of people, that goes a long way.” The firm appreciated that Osprey took a personable, relationship‑driven approach rather than a pushy sales process.

Structured updates without unnecessary meetings

Weekly progress check‑ins ensured the firm always felt informed but Roger points out that “we never had a meeting for the sake of having a meeting… They took us through the process and got to understand what we wanted. In our industry, time matters, and everyone respected that people are busy.”

A seamless data migration

Like most firms, P4B Law expected the data migration process to be painful. But instead, it exceeded expectations. “I was told ‘this would happen, that would happen’… and subconsciously I probably thought if they do 70%, I’ll be happy. But fair play — [Osprey] stuck to it. The data migration just went seamlessly well.”

Unlimited training and everyday support

Roger says that a standout element of the onboarding was the level of hands‑on support P4B Law received from their dedicated trainer and support contact.

He joked that it felt as though his Client Onboarding Specialist, was sitting by the phone exclusively for them: “He gave us the impression – in a positive way – that he was sitting waiting for our call in case there was a problem…

“ My team were told, ‘Don’t waste hours looking for something, just pick up the phone; they were as good as their word.”

Crucially, the training was tailored around the firm’s actual workflows, not a generic checklist. “The trainer didn’t just say he was going to teach 30 things. He asked which ones were relevant to how we work. It was tailored rather than off‑the‑shelf.”

The wider team also benefitted: “My staff were very happy they could ring and ask questions direct. I was even happier the questions didn’t have to come to me!”

Advice for other firms considering a change

Roger’s biggest reflection was that the fear of switching systems held him back longer than it should have.

“If I had known how easy it was to make that change, I would have done it a long time ago.”

For firms hesitant about migrating, his advice is simple: “There were things I was unhappy about with our old provider, but I didn’t change because I didn’t want the aggravation. In the end, it was far easier than I imagined.”

Looking ahead at the partnership with Osprey

Although P4B Law is still early in their journey with Osprey, Roger expects the firm will explore more features once things settle down.

“Osprey is doing everything we want at the moment… I’m sure there’ll be things we haven’t yet looked at properly that could benefit us.”

P4B Law will continue to work close with their client success manager but also benefit from ongoing unlimited training and support to help users utilise the platform to their advantage.
